Rolling hills with sprawling farms typify Orange County Precinct 101

Message from our Co-chairs
Joe and Elaine Freeland

Democracy prevailed with the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Thanks to the hard work and perseverance of voters and volunteers like Orange County Dems we have a new administration which conducts affairs worthy of a society of free people.

Since we trust our White House leadership, we may be watching cable news a little less and reading a little less buzz from our favorite online news sources. However, we cannot take our eyes off the fact that democratic government at the state level should also be a force for good and a source of hope.  We must work hard to continue the steady blue trend in Virginia with the election in November 2021.

Somehow we've weathered and witnessed a nation that isn't broken,
but simply unfinished.

Amanda Gorman, January 20, 2021

And All You Have To Do Is Sign The Petitions

More than a dozen Democrats want to run for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and the District 30 seat of the House of Delegates.  To appear on the June 8 primary ballot, they need hundreds of signatures from registered voters in Virginia.

As Democrats, part of expanding voting rights is to make sure voters have choices.  Please come by the following location to sign the petitions and help Democratic candidates get on the ballot.

                La Naranja Mexican Restaurant
                182 Byrd St., Orange, Virginia

Saturdays, February 20 and 27, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Voter registration services will also be available for change of address or new Virginia voters.

For everyone’s safety, COVID protocols will be observed.

Help continue the steady blue trend in Virginia and allow candidates with good ideas to run for office.  The Democratic hopefuls represent a broad cross section of our citizenry.  Get to know them on our website, and commit to helping them get on the primary ballot!

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Source: Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District (RRHD); February 5, 2021

Our health district is currently allocated about 2,000 first doses per week. RRHD is working to allocate those equitably throughout the district between the clinic at Germanna Community College in Culpeper and partners in the district (hospitals, private clinics, and pharmacies).

The following are now eligible for the vaccine:  frontline essential workers, people aged 65 years and older, and people with high-risk medical conditions. Anyone eligible based on occupation should check with your employer to see if arrangements have already been made. If arrangements have not been made, call RRHD at 540-308-6072 to see if you can register for the vaccine.

To register for the vaccine, fill out the appropriate survey (see below) or call 540-308-6072. You will likely need to leave a message for a call back. You will receive an email or will be called to schedule an appointment. Monitor your inbox and spam folder. It may be weeks before vaccination appointments become available for those who have registered. Please help your friends and relatives sign up who do not have internet access.

Continue to wash your hands, watch your distance, wear a mask, and stay at home if you are sick.
