Orange County has 10 precincts with each corresponding to a different polling location and each having an Orange County Democratic Committee Precinct Captain. An OCDC Precinct Captain serves as the face of the Democratic Party at the local level and as an initial point of contact for introducing local Democrats to the Committee.
OCDC Precinct Captains work within their precincts to recruit volunteers and new members. Additional responsibilities include leadership of door-to-door canvasing, phone banking, and postcard writing. On Election Day Precinct Captains ensure the Orange County voter information tables at the precincts are staffed with volunteers prepared to assist voters before they enter the polling location.
