Stephen J. Farnsworth, professor of political science and international affairs and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies at the University of Mary Washington, will speak on the topic of his latest book, “Presidential Communication and Character,” at the Lake of the Woods Community Center on Sunday, April 28, 1:00 p.m. in Classroom 2. The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Woods Democratic Club.
The book traces news management by the White House during America’s changing media environment over the past two decades beginning with the Clinton administration.
Dr. Farnsworth’s political commentary appears in many media outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, PBS NewsHour, Politico, C-SPAN and BBC World. He has lectured to domestic and international audiences on the news media, the presidency and elections. He holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from Georgetown University and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Missouri and Dartmouth College.

Diane Fraser, another of the four Democratic candidates for the 7th Congressional District seat, is coming to visit Lake of the Woods to meet with members of LOWPAN (“huddle”), the LOW Democratic Club and Orange County Dems.
