Call to Virtual Caucus

The Orange County Democratic Committee will elect delegates and alternates to the 7th Congressional District Democratic Convention and the Virginia State Democratic Convention using a virtual caucus. This is in accordance with the effort of the Democratic Party of Virginia to reduce risk of the  Covid-19 virus public health emergency. Our committee has been allocated 5 delegates and 1 alternate for Joe Biden, and 2 delegates and 1 alternate for Bernie Sanders.

Thursday, April 9, is the filing deadline to vote in the Orange County Democratic Committee virtual caucus. If you wish to vote in the selection of Orange County delegates, complete the following form: 2020 Presidential Caucus Participant Pre-Filing Form

The same day, April 9, is also the filing deadline for those who wish to be delegates. If you wish to stand for election as delegate from Orange County, complete the following form:  2020 State Delegate Pre-Filing Form

If the Orange County Democratic Committee has fewer than or exactly the number of allocated delegates, the caucus will be cancelled and those who filed will automatically become delegates. If we have more, the caucus will be held.

Our virtual caucus, if needed, will begin on Saturday, April 18th, and will close on Monday, April 20th. It will take place online. If you file to participate, you will receive a unique identification number required to vote.
