U.S. Sen. Mark Warner met Sunday with young Democrats from Culpeper, Orange and Madison counties. Warner, Virginia’s senior senator, encouraged the teens to stay involved with politics, and described some of his legislative initiatives, including the Stop Stupid Acts bill he introduced. The bill would ensure that, if there was another government shutdown, most government activities would continue, while only Congress and White House employees would have their pay stopped. Warner took questions from the teens, who asked about immigration policies, taxes and the deficit.
High School Students from Virginia’s Seventh District will have the Opportunity to Win a Trip to Washington, D.C. to spend the day with their Congresswoman.
